Trutite™ PTFE Tape, commonly known as the Plumbers Tape is a must have product for all plumber toolboxes. Trutite™ PTFE Tape makes for a strong lubricant and can be used to tighten the seal on a pipe.
Most commonly used for Metal-to-Metal screw thread joints, Trutite™ PTFE Tape is included to reduce the risk of damage to the thread as well as providing a more complete seal.
Trutite™ PTFE Tape, can also be used wherever a compression joint occurs between two sections of pipe. Plumbers often use Trutite™ PTFE Tape when replacing a radiator, to tighten the seal on older pipe work after it has been moved and is more likely to leak.
How to Use
To use Trutite™ PTFE Tape in the most efficient way, wrap your thread clockwise, holding your pipe end in your left hand and apply the tape with your right hand, unwrapping the tape away your body. If you are left-handed, do the opposite, hold the pipe/joint in your right hand and unwrap the tape towards your body. Using Trutite™ PTFE Tape to wrap around the joint 3 times is enough, any more risks overloading the thread with Tape.
